Is it wise to have all date fields defined as datetime and therefore use ttod(datetimefield) = ? vp_Date in our p-views and index on ttod(datetimefield)? Or should we use date field if there is no sense in datetime field from the user's perspective?

>Dont worry in new SQLServer2005 there is Date type field

As I understood, there is no confirmation about it from MS. Here is the link
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/sql/2005/maintain/sqlydba.mspx#EEAA see the Appendix for new field types.
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
