>We have Visual FoxPro 5.0 running on an NT 4.0 workstation PC. We are going to get some new PC's in that will also be running NT 4.0. We have a database application created in VFP5.0 on the original machine, that some of the users may need to access periodically from the new machine. Is there a way to do this without installing VFP5.0 on the new machine?
If you create a 'dummy' install - that is, use the distribution wizard on an almost empty directory (I put in a small text file) it will create a generic setup program that supports all your network-bound FoxPro exe's (I presume you're compiling them as EXE files).
If you need to install support for this on many workstations: if you're on an NT network, you might want to look at SYSDIFF to automate the install for workstations. If you're on Novell Server, check out SnapShot (part of Netware Application Launcher).
