Is there really much of a difference between Visual Fox tables and ADS local server version? What advantages are there?

>Rodd,
>Advantage Database Server (ADS) is well known in the Borland comunity and is a great replacement for Paradox tables. I have not used ADS with VFP, but they support both ODBC and OLE DB so it should be easy to integrate with VFP. There are two "versions": ADS which is a true database server, and loacl server which is their free version and works similarly to VFP tables (i.e. not true database server).
>The biggest difference between MSSQL and ADS is probably the price <s>, ADS is a lot cheaper and provide good support.
>ADS has a devloper conference once or twice a year in Boise, Idaho that you can attend for a reasonable price.

>>I just saw an add for Advantage Database Server. I had never heard of this product before. Does anybody have any experience with this product (especially in relation to VFP)? Is it everything it claims to be? How would you compare it to SQL Server? What drawbacks have you run across with this product?
