Hi Terry,

no, it doesn't work from the Detail header to footer. It will work if I put the box in the group header or footer, but that won't work for me as it will put a box around all multiple detail bands and I only want it around one of the detail band sections. Yes, the box has to go around an indeterminate number of detail lines.

I will try with the multiple lines instead of boxes, but I always found that way to be such a pain and would have thought that the detaiil header and footer should work the same way as the group header and footer.

What I do in such cases is put a horizontal line across the top of my text, in the header part, and join vert. lines to its two ends. These I then stretch down to the bottom of the detail line. So with each new detail line the vert. lines extend down. As for the bottom line of the "box", it can be at the top of the next group header, or in the footer.

I have created two detail bands and their associated headers and footers, dropped a box on the report and stretched it from the detail1 header to the detail1 footer. I cannot set its stretch attributes because they are disabled. If you do this using the group header and footer you likewise do not have access to thestretch property, but the box automatically stretches for you.

>>>Have you set its stretch attributes in properties? Have yoy actually stretched it from the top to the footer? Not sure what you mean by "detail header" and "Detail footer"
