No, No. This is not a question about changing visual properties, like color. That was just the simplest example that I could think of to convey the concept. The value of an intermediate class heiracrhy is well documented in books and articles.

My question really goes to whether there is a way, built into the framework, that creates a set of application specific intermediate classes. Maybe this is a question for Kevin?
