The funny thing is that (local cursor) has already happened. ADO was built or enhanced by the FoxPro cursor engine back around 1997 or so by at least two renown VFP developers and VFP Testers and PMs.
But, I agree with Ken that there won't be a local cursor ala VFP with data centric commands because ADO is as good as it gets and it's good enough. We VFP programmers have our expectations and VFP-centric view of the world and that is good because in some ways MS is responsive and does incorporate such features into .NET.
