Has anyone entertained the idea of maintaining a library of modules implemented in MM.NET at the application level that covers the common needs of MM.NET applications.

Last night I just developed first version code for logging into a Web Site (SQL Server as the back end) that accepts a UserID and Password, keeps track of hacking attempts, disables the account after so many invalid attempts, maintains a list of users, blah, blah, blah. (I think the framework may already provide something like this but that particular functionality is the the point of this musing anyway ... just the catalyst).

I then began wondering how many times have framework developers had to develop the same stuff over and over again ... how nice it would be to have a library of modules that has been code reviewed by the MM.NET community and supported as a group, open source application level code base so to speak.

The growth potential is quite large. Modules for any conceivable implementation could be compiled: integration with QuickBooks/Quicken, User Mangement, Contact Management ... over time whose to say full fledged accounting modules couldn't become open source. As the library grew I'm sure it'd make the framework itself more and more attractive to new users.

Just a thought ... comments/flames/berations welcome.

PS: I'm getting reading to add encryption and hashing to the web login. Not to mention PayPal Instant Payment Notification modules. I simply thought there was potential here to help one another out.
