Yes, I remember those days on CompuServe. It also helps if people delete anything older than the message you are replying to (and I'm sure it would cut down on storage space). I try to do that, but don't always remember.

It appeared first, embedded between chevrons, and was followed by the new message. You didn't have to stop and think about which chronological order things were in or wade through a recap of the entire discussion to get to the one new bit.
