I agree with this completely and I agree with you as well the progression from FP2.6 Windows to VFP5, in reference to how they have updated the display (one large bitmap), could be part of the ActiveX problem (very good points). In reference to the display updates I have to state generally to M$, "What the hell is going on? And it better be fixed in 6!" I can excuse FoxPro for Windows because it was almost completed when M$ bought it, but carrying this bad design through 2 major version changes is crazy.
I am seeing that while the original statement is true and came from MSFT, it is (how many so elloquently put it) a load of crap. I hope, and expect, that the integration and standardization in VS will get better and progress as Office has.
