>Never mind 'jumping through hoops'. I assume that a lot of the apps written will be illegal. If you attach VFP9 to MSSQL in order to reap the benefits of a true dbms, and to lose the 2 gig limitation in VFP, I guess you'd be violating the EULA. So much for all the hype about using vfp with Sql 2000 etc.

Well I don't think that's considered a technical limitation, since one of the things that VFP is able to do is talk to other backends via ODBC.
I *think* what they did was toss that in there to try to keep people from running VFP on something other that Windows. In other words - no VFP on top of Windows Emulators - which I think is kinda stupid. Didn't MS just get busted for being a Monopoly? Was this whole court battle a waste of time because I dont see any differences - if anything Micro$oft is bundling MORE stuff and restricting usage even more!

>>>Ok now THIS has been slipped into the EULA for VFP9.

>>>What? Can't work around the technical limitations in the software? Are the Micro$oft lawyers smokin crack now or something? What the heck does THAT mean I can't do now?

>>There goes the fun of programming! I take that clause to mean that we cannot jump through hoops and apply bandages to make anything work using VFP 9.0. No workarounds allowed! :)
