Oh it works with ODBC too (was doing this before even ADO was around as I remember). Just talking about ADO my mind tend to think it's an OLEDB driver and OLEDB driver has plusses over ODBC version - such as supporting "set null off":) With ODBC drivers you'd be using MSDASQL anyway with ADO but with pure ODBC it works (code different and I'm afraid I wouldn't even remember how).
