>From the name of the book I would say that Visual Basic has truly matured! We have gone from VB 6.0 to VB 2005! Wow! Somewhere in between was something called VB.NET. Congratulations on winning this essential book for programmers everywhere. By the way how is the book?

It's funny how time passes by so fast. I already forgot about VB 7, VB 8...VB 2004 <g>

260 pages of quick intro to what's new in VB 2005 compared to the precedent version. It looks ok. It was made for programmers already familiar with VB6.

>P.S. If you become interested in Dot NET I would suggest becoming familiar with VB.Net, truly concentrate on C# and avoid COBOL NET if possible! :)

>>Rod did'nt have the time to present extender classes :-< but as always his presentation was really interesting. And guess what? I won the book "Introducing Visual Basic 2005 to developers". Rod found that funny. Hmmm I wonder why <g>

>>>Jean-René, Sylvain...I sat in on three of Rod's outstanding sessions at CodeCamp in Boston: intro ADO.NET, custom data types in SQL '05, and extender classes/property grids/UI Type Edtiors.

>>>He's an excellent speaker, and I know that several people (including myself!) walked away with some great productivity tips....ESPECIALLY from the extender class session.
