Its one thing to make an honest mistake. I have posted solutions with errors in them. Heck, nobody is perfect. However, that is not the issue. The issue is in blindly posting conclusions with no basis in fact. For instance, if you tell somebody it's OK to take one of two courses of action - because it is assumed that the outcome will be the same - when it is not known if the outcome will be the same - it unacceptable. The fact that the advice came from a fellow MVP makes it even more unacceptable to me.

MVP's - by the very nature of the recognition from MS - have a responsibility to be as accurate as possible. Bottom line, don't tell people to do something based on conclusions that can't be supported. That is just plain irresponsible. Sorry, I hold fellow MVP's to that standard. And, I would expect those folks - and others to that standard.

Someday, if you follow somebody's advise, that was not all that well thought out, and disasterous results occur, maybe your feelings would be different. You see, I have had more than one consulting that was based on bailing the client out of a bad situation that an incompetent consultant put them in.

Sorry you are offended...
