Well, if it is only for that, I wouldn't upgrade; but I understand that VFP 9 has lots of other benefits. For example, one I find more important is that the array restriction (65,000 elements, up to VFP 8) has been lifted.

You might also take the error message as an indication of a possible design weakness - I mean, you would normally try to avoid procedures that are that big. I mean, it should usually be possible to place part of the code in another subroutine.
