IP is not encrypted in the app, instead it's evaluated at runtime.
You are not missing anything. I tried to achieve two goals at once: prohibit unauthorized computers to access the db and user/password authentication.
I have not dealt yet with DHCP, that's why this solution worked flawlessly for me until now. Your case may be different.
Thanks.
>As I understand , you have IP and password encrypted in app because you don't want users to connect from different environment to SQL DB ? Corect ?

>Why local IP ? You need that only specific PC's to connect to SQL DB ? It's a great idea. A little more difficult in a domain with DHCP if IP's change. But I can use this idea because users with restricted access are on different IP zone .
