To be more precise, it's really 2 GB per file, not just per table -- so indexes and memo files could each be up to 2 GB in addition to the 2GB limit for the DBF.

In my comments on that article (immediately below the article text), I tried to clarify "table" instead of "database", but did mention "2 GB per file". It just seemed a little too much to try to explain in great detail in the limited comments I was making, and I wanted to include lots more of VFP's features too.

So, while I said it was 2 GB per table, it really could be even more than that, if you count memo contents and indexes.
