>There are a LOT of UKers (?) here in my area. It always surprises me. But then we have a lot of folks here from Bulgaria, India, Panama, Korea, Germany, South American countries, etc. I usually meet them all in the coffee houses (we have almost 10 of them in Fayetteville). I think we have so many here from other countries due to Fort Bragg. A lot of families follow a relative here after he/she marries a service member that is stationed at Fort Bragg. Most that come to the states from Europe end up in a large city though such as New York, Baltimore, Boston, Denver, Minneapolis, Los Angelos, San Francisco, etc. The average U.S. citizen though I think lives in a medium sized town either outside of a larger city or within 2 hours of one (like me). Fayetteville has a population of 100,000 in the metropolitan area (45,000 service members on Fort Bragg and about half of them are counted in that total) and we are about an hour and a half from Raleigh, NC. 4 hours from Charlotte, NC
>and 6 hours from Washington D.C. I like it here because it is 1.5 hours from the ocean and 3-4 hours from the mountains. No jobs here though. After 14 years I've finally gotten accustomed to the weather and couldn't imagine shoveling snow ever again. I've lived in many places in the states (Virginia, Wisconsin, Colorado, California, Arizona, Washington, Oregon, Texas, Louisiana) and all have their good points and bad points (not to mention different climates). There is a lot to choose from! :o)

Wow, thanks for the details, so far we are looking East Coast, but not sure where on the EC, not too keen on NYC though.

>Update: Do you have any close personal friends that live in a metropolitan area where the job market is good that you can visit? It might be a good idea to find a sponsor...(or marry an American and then the two of you can both live in the country of your choice during the good months) (VBG) :o)

Hehe, we have a potential sponsor, my wife's uncle lives in Miami so hopefully he could sponsor us.
