I must be making this TOO HARD?
Environment versions
Network:
Windows 2000 Server
Naturally I have a development machine and a production machine.
I use SQL and all views defined in a DBC.
Can the Connection Designer use memory variables? I would read the variables from a DBF on startup and then define connections.
I want to just copy the DBC from Dev to production and let DBC now connect to a different SQL server and even a different name SQL database (naturally the tables would be the same).
Right now I copy the new DBC over to production, but then I have to go to production, open the DBC, change the connection database and probably the Userid & password. There could be 4 or 5 DBC and frequently I forget to do one of the minor ones.
I am making this too hard.
