I don't quite follow what you're saying. We're well past the text file stage here, dealing only in pukka VFP tables (properly normalised, keyed, etc.) I don't know what you mean in your 1st paragraph. Also, I'm not sure that an xBase approach would be better as it means traversing across a whole range of similar records for a particular field. e.g. for each time( x) field I find I have to look at Time(x) for all records with the same PK but different Seq. No.
