You should take a look at Florida. Last year there were 291,000+ new jobs created in Flordia. That's 11 times the average for a state and almost 3 times the 2nd place state for creating new jobs (Arizona).
IMO the best part of the state is along the south-east coast - by Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, South Beach. The cost of living is pretty good, the climate is tropical, the beaches are amazing. What more could you want?
