Using perfmon to determine if more RAM is required
Versions des environnements
Hi folks. I am trying to determine if my server needs more RAM. It a dual XEON 2.8 with 1 gig of RAM running Windows 2000 SP4. It's only function is to host ASP.NET apps that currently have Access and VFP backends.
With Perfmon I can see a performance object called "memory" but if I use "%committed bytes in use" and "available bytes". Commmited shows from 30% to 50% and available always shows as 100%.
If I open task manager there is a window called "MEM usage", which runs at about 782,000. This is about 30% of the total memory. Task manager appears to count physical ram, plus perhaps swap file.
My questions are, am I using the right tools with the right parameters to determine if I need more memory? Also, is the above telling me if I need more memory?
