Take a look at the grid.splitbar and grid.partition properties
these split the grid into two parts, which can be scrolled
independantly. Without the lockcolumn property it's hard to
really lock the let part of the grid.

You may check in events which fire when the grid could scroll,
if objtoclient(column,2) of the column1 and column2 of the grid
are correct (have their inital value and not 0) und use the
doscroll event to correct scrolling...
