>See the 2nd column at the top of page 18 about "Zero-rated" goods. These are goods/services that are exported to a non-canadian and are except from tax. There are some exceptions to this this exemption though. http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/E/pub/gp/rc4027/rc4027-e.pdf

Do you really expect me to read those 27 pages, not being a native speaker and also not having any knowledge of Canadian (tax) law? I have done the research already two weeks ago, and the many texts were really too much for me. As far as I understand it all, I am a non-resident for whom the HST should be 'zero-rated'. If you think that an exception applies, then please point me/us to the paragraphs.

>I'd be cautious about personally attacking government officials or attributing things like "arrogance" to them. Especially in public. This could doom your application. Stick to the facts and argue them.

Well, first of all, I sent in the letter as you will have read it. The word 'arrogance' is used only here in this thread. But are you implicitly saying that they might act differently if I did not say 'arrogance'?? That sounds like that your government officials are too powerful and possibly even corrupt. I do stick to the facts, of course. But if they think it's not necessary to answer, then 'arrogance' is the correct word to use. And why should I hide the fact that I'm angry about it?!
