You Americans got rid of your king (George III) and now you all want to be one! :-) What you don't understand is, in a constitutional monarchy, you're virtually powerless anyway, and have to go "crown in hand" to the "people" to get anything. :-)
By the way, considering the longevity of Elizabeth II, trying to outdo Victoria for her reign, it looks as if Charles WILL only be king for a day, before he snuffs it and William takes over.
