>>Starting this year, when you renew your subscription, you'll have to pay 15% Canadian Taxes, no matter what country/province you live in! Isn't that odd?

>>THIS IS A PETITION!!

>>Please, reply to this message with a short but powerful POV, whether or not you agree to paying those taxes.

>>Level Extreme (UT) has decided to fight this Canadian Tax. Frustrated by the negative replies they get from the Tax Department, they are currently searching the news. This petition can be of great help!
>>
>>Let me make the importance of this petition even more clear: The UT is even at danger of being discontinued!

>I have no intention of sifting through 50+ messages stating stupid things over who's health care system is better or what not. But ever since you started complaining about the GST/HST charges I've been thinking that you are attacking this the wrong way. And what I find strange is that I haven't seen a post by Michel Fournier regarding this. Of course, I haven't been reading ALL messages.

>From the following site: http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/E/pub/tg/rc4070/rc4070eq-04.html#P381_33069 (Canada Revenue Agency) I see that "exports (most goods and services taxable at 7% or 15% in Canada are zero-rated when exported)." So,... maybe Michel is charging you incorrectly... Please note that I am not accusing, I am just stating this as a possibility. I am not an expert on taxes but I am sure Michel has checked with his accountant in regards to this subject.

>Even if UT is supposed to charge for the taxes, I think it would be better for UT to contact its local tax office stating that it is in risk of losing its business because people abroad are not willing to pay the taxes, instead of having people emailing / writing letters of complaint to who knows who at the CRA.

Alex,

You could have clicked on the link in the title. Then you would have read the original post. It contains some links to introductory messages. The first one is: Re: New 'HST' for PUTM = Hefty Sales Tax? Thread #992783 Message #993132

It should shed some light on the matter. I agree with what you write about 50+ messages stating stupid things over who's health care system is better or what not. It is all way off topic and actually annoying thread drift.
