Very frankly it's early days for me but I have a feeling it will be a good thing all in all. I guess at PyCon it did have a positive response. I have built a tiny app using AppWizard. But my problem is taking time out to learn a new language Python and framework Dabo. Right now I am helping out more as a tester. I was hoping there would be a full-fledged app using Sizers and all, so taking it apart (rather than some other python scripts included which is not an app) I could make headway in learning Dabo and Python.
As far as connecting to FireBird it does not seem to be any problem. I have downloaded py2exe to convert .py stuff to .exe using python scripts <g>. But are same options available for other OS that Dabo will support (not that I have a requirement for other OS's <g>), else how can we secure our application for non-Windows OS?
Have you given it a shot?
You can also email me personally at the below addresses if you feel so or ofcourse we can always converse here on UT.
