Hi all,

I have a router with 2 computers connected. The first computer is a laptop with windows xp home sp2 the second is a window 98 desktop. On the second computer (win98) i have a hp deskjet printer installed via an usb cable.

I shared this printer so i can use him also on the laptop (xp). I have 2 strange problems.

The first is that when i ask on the laptop the page settings for the printer i takes a century to receive the information.

The second is a problem with outlook. When i want to open some (word) attachments it takes also a century to open them. All the other attachments (pdf,xls,and most of the word docs...) are opening very fast.

I unplugged the laptop from the router and tried to open the slow docs again and at this time word (msoffice) buggs while all the other docs are still working/opening fine. So it seems that word is trying to find information on the net or the win98 computer via the netwerk.

I deactivated the firewall on both sides and antivirus but nothing changes.....

Somebodys has a clue or thing i can try to solve this problem ?
