There has been some concern on some Microsoft sites that TechEd this year will be a bit market heavy as opposed to tech heavy. There's no real way to know that until it begins. You should choose based on where your needs are. I've not been to either conference (I'm speaking at DevTeach), but here's some suggestions:
TechEd
- Larger conference (MUCH larger).
- More sessions
- Official MS conference
- Heavy emphasis on SQL Server 2005, VS 2005, and Longhorn
DevTeach
- Smaller, more intimate
- Fewer sessions
- Emphasis on SQL Server, .NET, and VFP
Summary
If you want a good chance to talk to speakers and network, I'd choose DevTeach. If you want information on Longhorn, choose TechEd.
>I have to make a decision today on which of these two to attend. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Please let me know why you would prefer one over the other.
