Not sure what you mean, Michel, but if you mean the two little monitors in the systray then this might work...
In another similar icon there, rt-click and click on "Open network connections".
Then find the VPN area and rt-click on the connection in question. From there you can do things like connect/disconnect, look at properties, etc.
The properties has the capability to show the systray icon, and maybe re-clicking that will show it again.
If it's a non-MS VPN that you're talking about then none of this matters.

>Sometimes, the VPN module disappear from the tray list, even if it is still there. That has just happened again today for the second time in two months. I would like to know what is the name I should look for in the task manager so I can remove it manually. Otherwise, I would have to reboot.
