www.gmail.comFor now, and on the occasion of their 1st. aniversary, GMail is gradually incrementing the storage space from 1 GB, to 2 GB.
For those who don't use GMail yet:
Other features of GMail include a potent search engine, and the ability to access your e-mail both through POP3 and Web site.
Registration is only available through an invitation, but it is not hard to get one.

It should be noted that after GMail announced its 1 GB storage for free - which seemed like an enormous amount, 1 year ago (500 times the storage offered by HotMail, for instance) - several other e-mail providers followed suit, for example:
Yahoo! incremented its storage space from 6 MB to 250 MB. More recently, they announced 1 GB for the near future.
Hotmail announced plans to increment the storage space from 2 MB to 250 MB. (For now, this is a promise only; many users are still waiting.)
GMX (from Germany) incremented their space from 10 MB to 20 MB; and then soon to 1 GB.
So, whether you actually use a GMail yourself, or not, it is very likely that you are already benefitting from their storage offerings - unless you happen to have large amounts of stock shares from one of the competitors, who now have to follow suit <g>.
