hmmmm...ok I didn't actually think of that, but none-the-less I still think it's somewhat ridicilious because it's a VFP convention - ya know, where you go to learn how to use VFP not how to kill it! As for what you're finding on dice.com - that's interesting because I just looked at the 34 most recent Foxpro jobs on dice.com and not a single one of them talked about migrating to .Net. As matter of fact I've only seen a handful of these ever on dice.com. Hey if I wanted to learn about VB.NET and C# and ASP.NET I think I'd goto a .NET conference...
Any VFP application that you're going to "migrate" to something else is going to involve completly rewriting it anyway, so then what difference does it make where you learn C#?? Sure it's handy to have VFP guy explaining it to ya because they'll have an understanding of where you're coming from, but based on my 25 years worth of experience as a programmer I don't think I'd learn C# any faster from a former VFP programmer than I would from any other qualifed person. Point is that they're having a VFP convention with topics on how to quit using VFP. Now geee why would they do that?

>>>They tried that once before...to great failure. That was a few years ago in Palm Beach. I don't think they'll make that same mistake again.

>>Yes great opporunity - but I find it rather ridicilious that at a VFP convention there are no less than 3 sessions on how to mirgrate AWAY from VFP to something else. Generally when you goto a convention about programming in a specific language they don't have a bunch of classes on how to get rid of it! (unless it's about to become a thing of the past of course)
