About a cople of years ago I heard about RAIMA'S OBJECT DATABASE But this approach is incommun until now, I heard that OODBMS's are harder to control and slower than RELATIONAL DATABASES ? THE VFP ADVANTAGE ================== But if you 're trying to develop on a OOP language WITH Relational Database , VFox is better with DBF's than VB is with MDB's. THE VFP DISADVANTAGE ===================== But if you'll use any CLIENT-SERVER database ( like ORACLE, MS-SQL SERVER, etc...) you should take a closer look at VB, VC , CONTURA ( ex- Gupta SQL Windows), PowerBuilder , OPTIMA++, or Delphi. ( The only ones I know ) - The Advantage ? - THEY CAN ACCESS SERVER BASED DATABASE DIRECTLY !!! And Until now I still need the "sluggard" ODBC to do it with VFP 3.0 ( I hope 5.0 can do it Better !)
