Thank you Hank - that worked.

But I then managed to break it <g>

Further investigation now shows that once I open the project in VFP9 I can carry on opening it in 9 without being asked to login. But if I ever open the same project in VFP7, it means that next time I open it in 9 I will be asked to login again.

But I am never asked to login when I open it in 7 regardless. Presumably 7 is blowing away something that 9 needs to automate the login?

Why do I keep swopping - well the production release is still in 7 but I am getting ready to move to 9 with the next one and am trying to find all gotcha's before I commit myself - so far so good!

>If you a) check everything in from 7 and b) move away the pjx/t/m and c) rejoin the project from VFP9, you should see an end to your problem.

>Using SourceOffSite, I was actually able to edit the location of the srcsafe.ini in the SCC memofield in the first record in the project and have it work recently, when moving SOS servers -- this was something entirely new, as I had never had any luck doing it previously. This was in VFP8, fwiw. But rejoining will work for sure.

>>I am moving from VFP7 to VFP9 (never got chance to use VFP8). I have used SourceSafe with VFP7 for ages without any problems.

>>I have a number of existing projects, whenever I open one in VFP7 the project window opens straight away without any problem, but if I open the same project in VFP9 a dialog box always appear asking for me to logon to SourceSafe. This is a pain and I want to suppress this so it behaves just like it does in VFP7.
>>
>>I have set up VFP9 to use SourceSafe in the Tools->Options and have done everything I can think of to make the environments the same but I cannot stop this logon request from happening. It appears to be necessary to re logon everytime I close VFP9 and restart it again.

>>Has anyone any idea what I should do to sort this out?

>>Many thanks
