Hey Walter,

You may not see any reason to go to .Net in the current situation you are in. However, what about the people whose situation matches what Kevin describes? Or, lives in an area which puts them in the situation Kevin describes? What about the developer that could have taken on a project but has to turn it down because they are not proficient enough in .Net?

You're right, .Net is not the only answer to make a living, and I haven't seen either of the Kevins state that it was. Perhaps a developer is familiar with Java and PHP but now wants to add some .Net to their skill set. If someone chooses to make a living with .Net as well as VFP should they be blasted on this forum? What about some who chooses to help those that wish to expand their skill set to include .Net (and do it in such a way that it would benefit FoxPro developers more than it would developers of any other language)? Should that person be blasted as well, for helping or offering help to VFP developers?

Aloha,

James

>A very bold statement. I don't see any reasons to go .NET if I cannot earn my money with VFP. Specializing in niche product on the average lets you earn more money than mainstream. What about Java, PHP, Python, Oracle ? Nothing to do with .NET at all all and all viable future jobs for anyone who want to leave VFP.
