In the April 15, 2005 edition of SD Times, in the Upgrade Section, is the following:
"Microsoft has started shipping Visual FoxPro 9.0. This latest release lets developers use hierarchiacal XML and Web services, and also can communicate with SQL Server through enhanced SQL capabilities and new data types. The language produces Win32 binaries, not .NET code. Microsoft has committed to support Visual FoxPro, which costs $649 per seat, through 2014."
Comment: Uhhhh, the upgrade does not cost 649.00. Check
http://www.foxtoolbox.com for a different price.
And note the implication -- $649 *per seat* -- implying that the run time isn't free.
One flat out lie and one extremely misleading statement wrapped up in four sentences. Wanna bet this met with MSFT marketing's approval?
