You can use the FileExplorer on the emulator to connect to your pc's folders in the same way you would connect from another pc using local area network file sharing.

Assuming you have a folder on the pc set up for network filesharing, start the emulator and from within the emulator start its File Explorer program. At the bottom of the File Emulator screen tap Open. A dialog box will ask you for the Path you want to open. Enter the name of the pc and the folder that is shared e.g. "\\mypc\myfolder". The emulator should say contacting the server or something like that. It takes half a minute or so on my machine. You can then copy and past a file from the pc's folder to the emulator.

To copy a file you remember you have to hold the mouse down and wait for the dotted circle to come up. This also seems to take 15 seconds or more on my machine.
