I see we think alike (smart people think alike lol)

After I got the error I did the following:
1. Checked if I had installed IIS (even if I knew I installed IIS 1 hour before this happend)
2. Typed "localhost" in the address bar in IE (it worked)
3. Ran aspnet_regiis.exe -i
4. Tried running my install again. Same error.
5. Added helloWorld.htm to the root web directory and browsed to it. The page loaded.
6. Added helloWorld.aspx to the root web directory and browsed to it. The page loaded.
7. Tried running my install again. Same error.
8. Manually created the virtual directory and copied all the source code (that the install was supposed to install) to the virtual directory and its sub directories. Tried running my web app and it worked like normal.

The list above is the PG rated list of events there was a lot of swearing and additional attempts to run my install <g>

Should it matter that ASP.NET is not propperly registered with IIS in order for the install to run? I do run a check for IIS and for .NET framework and both of those checks passed.
