Word 2003 SP1

When I create a document, and whether I copy/paste or Insert image from file..., the images simply disappear as I continue to type or scroll the screen.

I can get them to re-appear by minimizing/maximizing, but this is a royal pain when I have 2 or more documents open and Windows decides to list them under a single start-bar entry!

Is there some setting that can control this? Recently went to Office Update site, but no download seemed to have changed this crap.

Thanks for any help.

PS I do have the latest video driver on the system
