Yes, Jess, it sure looks like marketing has as much to do with VFP development and does USER's needs. And by marketing I do *NOT* mean the improved ability to market VFP. Rather, it is apparent that marketing of OTHER products affects VFP's content!

I'm sure it is also this kind of thing which has the DoJ so interested. It is fine for there to be tie-ins to other products, but not acceptable to omit functionality from a product in favour of another product which you happen to sell and which is much more expensive. And they are, in fact, very DIFFERENT products. If it was a case of a Chevy versus a Cadillac, that might be something, but in this case it's more a case of a Chev and a tank - they both provide transport, but with very different purposes.

VFP is "relatively" new, so there has been a need to round out the product from both a developer's capability and a ease-of-use point of view. But we have now passed that threshhold, and it truly is TIME for MS to start to LISTEN TO DEVELOPERS and to start DELIVERING WHAT WE NEED>

Cheers,
Jim N

>Most likely not. If you would like security we suggest moving your data to SQL Server.

>Why the need to acquire SQL Server if it is not necessary? What we badly needed is that MS should put a Password to open a Database/tables to avoid hackers to hack the data. It's all, but marketing strategy!!! Grrrrr.....
