Yes, that was interesting. From memory you did this because somebody (forget who) claimed there were dotNET performance issues which was denied and another poster asserted that dotNET apps start horribly slowly and paint slowly onto the screen. Rather than starting a Monty-Python-style contradiction, I was most impressed that you posted a sample for people to try. I ran your sample on my typically configured business PC and reported back on the usual thrashing slowness and slow paints; to this day I can't understand how some posters claimed brilliant performance on their inadequate hardware. We started to engage the issue- is the framework preloaded, what other apps are you running- but the whole topic seemed to dry up.

Perhaps we should resurrect it?
