I typically work on a client machine. Over the last few weeks, the server response is getting continually slower. In now takes about 30 seconds for the server to open the Database folder for the first time. If I have the taskpad view turned on, it takes about 10+ seconds for that to come up, even if I was just there, clicked somewhere else and then came back.

This is not usual.

About a year ago, the server was getting slow, in a not-quite-so-similar manner. Then, it was found to be a problem with full-text indexing on a table. Those have been removed.

I have checked for overly large log files etc. and have no visible issues there.

How can I tell if SQL Server is the cause of the current slowdown?
