What if you didn't have VFP9? I did similar in VFP3 and what I did was simply create a shape class that looks like a circle representing the location ('seat') (would they care about shape of seat? if they do it also consists comfortable VIP seats, regular ... and you might end up with some visio like automation - or mapobjects like GIS activex:). Since my locations were circular I didn't have a problem about their rotation. They nicely react click,right click and record data. Just an idea.
PS: You might even use labels if you find some webdings font representing seats.
