Nono... you didn't catch it. It's the case when you have an aspired and uninspired consonant next to each other, the first one changes its aspiration to be the same as that of the latter one. When we adopted word "football", we initially pronounced it "futbal", but then this transformation kicked in, and it's "fudbal" now. It works for domestic words with very few exceptions, and for almost all imports... though it's not an "opsesija" (obsession).
