I like the first sample where the report is shown inside my form, however, there is no code to show how I can add a toolbar (or context sensitive menu) to allow navigation, zooming, number of pages to display, etc. like the second sample has. Does anyone know how the latter can be put into the first sample?

Yes... you'll have to write a bit of code though. Remember that you have the source code to the default preview window (which is what the second sample talks to) so you have everything you need there.
