>When the application is accessed from one of the workstations, they get the "Resouce file is not valid - overwite with new empty one?" message. Which ever choice they make it appears to work. After login, it comes up with error "Cannot update cursor". Then if try to update any files, get message "Record is read only". We have checked the properties of the files and they are NOT read-only. What else should we check? Are there settings somewhere that we should look at?

Barbara,
I'll jump in - but someone else for sure might be able to offer a more helpful reply. I, like you, rely on the clients NA's.

XP has folder level permissions. Cursors usually get assigned to the TEMP folder. Check the permissions there. There may also be an issue with FOXUSER.DBF, if you use it. Advice I've seen on fox user included removing it.

Also - if files are being copied (rather than installed) from a CD, you might need to check and assure the "copies" are not "READONLY" with the ATTRIB DOS command.

Not much - but someone else - for sure - will come up with something.
