This is not a V.F.P. issue.. This is a Windows issue.. So, everytime that you need to send ASCII code to some external device on LPT port.. Your code always will be interpreted by your default driver that will exchange the data... This is the default behavior of any printer driver.. The only one that will allow ASCII special chars is the GENERIC driver..

There is some shortcut to deal with this.. But, IMO every trying on that direction will be on the wrong-way of Windows path.. Because, there is many safety issue co-related with that one.
