The day I was due to win a TT competition (in my hotel on holiday - I was the favourite), I'd been horse-riding and was inexperienced, the horse was a lazy SOB and, knowing we were on the last leg, got the bit between his teeth and was cantering home. I lost my left stirrup as the horse took an unbiddden sharp left turn, and fell onto hard bakes, stone-studded earth. I was knocked out in the 1st round as my opponent, seeing my rib discomfort, kept serving to my far right. I don't think I got ONE point.
