>>Yikes! Yes, I ran into one of those recently, and I did go into the station and spoke with the manager. He listened and promised to turn the volume down, but not to turn it off. 2.15??? Wow! Things around here are about 2.40 (2.30 in a good day).

>>The TV - my weapon is called a Tivo, and I have shifted my veiwing schedule by 15 mins (enough to skip all the commercials in a one hour show). Radio? Forget about it!

>Radio is dead. NPR is still moving slightly.
Conventional radio is dying quickly, I agree. Satellite radio is "da bomb." As someone who drives 10 hrs straight at least once a month, I have found that the 12/mo for Sirius (XM is just as good...) is a worthwhile investment to be able to listen to any genre of music I desire without commercial interruption. I can also listen to things like NPR, or Fox News, or ESPN - which have some interruptions (because the source has commercials) but they are simply ads for other Sirius channels...they don't actually play the source commercials.
Plus, I can listen to the Sirius music streams in my office. Basically, anywhere I go, I hear commercial free music......
