Thanks for the msg reference.
Hmm why do I want the PPC to transfer the files? That is a good question. That is kinda how it has been done in the past on other handheld devices. In Palm OS we have a DLL that is called by the HotSync application, but initiating HotSync is done from the cradle. When the DLL was called from HotSync it could access records in tables on the PAlm device and write files on the PC. I don't know if it is comparing apples to apples.
Another issue that I just thought of. We want to transfer XML files just like you are, but I want the data stored on the PPC in a SQL CE database. Do you use SQL CE in your PPC app? If you are when do you create the XML file to be transfered?

I like the idea of the PC being the master and the PPC being the slave. Meditate on this I will.
