No, we cannot pick and choose what's allowed today. And, I'd be fine if he (or you) could show
that God approved of polygamy at any time.

As far as me telling you what the Bible says about anything be allowed for today, can you be more specific? There are so many things. There are two main commands though. We are to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul and mind - and - we are to love our neighbor as ourselves (Matthew 22:36-40.) That pretty much sums everything up. But, if you want something more specific, I'd be happy to oblige.
